I am Deborah Jenkins. I have always loved massage and even as a girl would give shoulder rubs to family and friends. My family used to say that I had the hands of my great grandmother. She was a French Lady’s Maid, trained in Swedish massage in the early 1900’s.
As a young mother I worked for 10 years as a childminder. Eventually deciding I wanted a different career, a friend suggested that I train to do massage. Two months later I was training at level 2!
After two years of working as Me Time Massage I felt the need to really make a difference to my clients. I wanted to offer more than pampering massages so I returned to college full time and did three diplomas in one year. In March 2017 I graduated with Level 3 VTCT diploma in Complimentary Therapies encompassing the Therapeutic massage, Aromatherapy and Reflexology.
I relaunched as Shalom in July 2017 and my holistic work really took off! I love every minute of working with my clients and have been thrilled to see so many have wonderful results using natural therapies. I feel that massage, essential oils and reflexology are three of the most powerful healing tools available and they are all underused in our society.
I have had the privilege of seeing reflexology ease sciatic pain and help Clients with fibromyalgia manage their symptoms better. I have helped one client’s body prepare to conceive and two others get their bodies prepared for labour to start naturally and spontaneously! I look forward to developing this side of my work.
I love to help busy women keep their backs and shoulders in good health and improve their posture while ending constant headaches. I have active clients who have found regular massage helps them remain active without as many aches and pains to deal with. Also those with injuries have recovered quicker following gentle massage.
In October 2020 I qualified as a Clinical Aromatherapist following two years of intense study! Aromatherapy has become the foundation of my practice with every treatment starting out with a bespoke blend just for that client at that time. I am continuing my aromatherapy studies with a Master’s thesis in the use of complementary therapies for the treatment of symptoms of fibromyalgia. I hope to complete this by the end of 2022 as well as my teaching qualification to open the Shalom School of Complementary Therapies.
I am also a Neal’s Yard Organics consultant. I love their award winning natural products and their ethos as a company. They are the only products I use in my facials and if you like the feel of them you can purchase them from me to use at home as well.
I have seen the dramatic results following facials using these amazing natural products! There is a skin care line for every skin type from young girls learning how to care for their skin naturally to those looking for anti-aging products that don’t involve injecting poisons into your skin.
In my ‘spare time’ I also travel to the Middle East and offer complimentary therapies to refugees, women and children who have escaped captivity and horrors of war. I also take care of the volunteers and staff who care for them and help them to heal and rebuild their lives. This is work that is very dear to my heart!
All the products I use in my treatments are from British made companies and all natural and/or organic as I like to promote British businesses and reduce the production miles of products.
Come along and enjoy a setting of gentle music and aromatherapy diffusers with soft lighting to help you relax and receive the maximum benefit from your chosen treatment.
