Well, I only missed one month so far! Not too bad I guess!
The medical dictionary definition of’holistic’ is as follows:
holistic [ho-lis´tik]
pertaining to totality, or to the whole. In recent years, there has been a growing interest in the concept of holistic health and the notion that the physical, mental, social, and spiritual aspects of a person’s life must be viewed as an integrated whole.
I call what I do holistic therapy because I try to look at the whole person. Allopathic medicine tends to just treat a symptom.
You have a headache – allopathic medicine usually give pain pills , maybe do a head scan. I ask about your stresses – mental, emotional and physical. We may blend oils that help on multiple levels, do reflexology to clear nerve pathways in the body and/or relax muscles of neck and shoulders that may be spasming.
The holistic approach may take longer to stop the headaches but it usually us a longer lasting affect. The pills may stop pain quicker but may be needed over and over again often bringing side effects with them.
I allow 1&1/2 – 2 hours per appointment. This is why we can go through your consultation in depth. This allows time to talk through your concerns and symptoms since our last treatment.
Every appointment we go over your oil blend and see if an ‘oil change’ is required to see further improvement. Come prepared for a chat. Let’s see what is happening in your life. Let’s talk through how you feel – and how you want to feel!
What are you struggling with? Let’s try a holistic approach and see how things improve
